How to Download Movies & Episodes from Peacock on Mobile/PC Laptop?
Summary: Have you ever tried to download Peacock shows? Can you download from Peacock on both mobile and PC devices? What should you know about offline viewing of Peacock? After tests and experiences for days, I made this guide to help new Peacock users get the proper Peacock download methods.
If your Wi-Fi is unreliable or you travel a lot, being able to download Peacock shows and movies for offline viewing is the difference between a smooth binge and staring at a buffering spinner, especially if you are rewatching The Office for the hundredth time. (I'm on it now, again)

So, I made this guide that explains everything about downloading Peacock shows to help you get more flexibility for offline viewing.
Can You Download Peacock Shows and Movies on Mobile?
1. Plans, devices, basic rules
Peacock does provide offline downloads, but only under specific conditions. To watch Peacock videos offline, what you need is an iOS or Android phone/tablet and a Peacock Premium Plus account.
2. How to download Peacock shows on a phone/tablet
The exact UI can change with updates, but the basic flow is stable. For reference, I'm using OnePlus and the Peacock app 6.11.22, with about 250 Mbps network.
Make sure you’ve either installed or updated the Peacock app. Use the App Store if you’re on iPhone, or the Google Play Store if you’re Team Android.
Log in to the account that has an active Premium Plus subscription. If you just upgraded, force close and reopen that app.
Find your movie or show. Look for a Download icon (downward arrow) on the details page or next to each episode. Tap Download on the title page.
Go to the Downloads tab in the bottom navigation. Check progress, pause/resume, cancel, delete items, or play the episodes you just started downloading or have already downloaded.

Even with Premium Plus, you may not see or may not be able to use the download icon. Typical causes of Peacock download not working include:
- Title restrictions: Some licensed titles are flagged as “streaming only.”
- Unsupported content type: Live sports, news, and certain events are just not available offline.
- Outdated app/OS: Sometimes your app or device is just old, so try an update.
- Storage/cache issues: Low storage or a corrupted cache can cause downloads to fail.
- Network/server problems: Flaky Wi-Fi or temporary service issues can interrupt the start of a download.
3. Peacock official download limits
In addition to the account subscriptions and device type settings mentioned earlier, Peacock downloads are not permanent files you own. They are time-limited licenses tied to your account and the app:
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Subscription Required | Premium Plus only (not Premium or Free) |
| Supported Devices | Mobile & tablet (iOS or Android) only; no desktop or TV downloads |
| Item Cap | Up to 25 downloads per account across all devices |
| Per-item Download Attempts | Some titles are limited to 10 downloads per account |
| Watched Content Expiration | 48 hours after playback begins |
| Unwatched Content Expiration | Removed after 30 days or when content leaves the platform |
| Logout / App Uninstall | All downloads on that device are deleted immediately |
Listing them off here may not warn you a lot, but what if I ask you to picture these:
- In a shared household with your parents, the 25-item cap can be hit quickly.
- “Stockpiling” multiple seasons for later may require frequent cleanup.
- Reinstalling or signing out right before a trip will wipe your offline shows.
Can You Download Peacock Shows on PC/Laptop?
Officially, PC devices (laptops), including Windows and Mac OS, lack of Peacock download feature.

But this isn't a dead end on the way to enjoying Peacock content offline on our devices, as we already paid for the required subscription, and we should have a more flexible option. Before you take a closer look at the solutions, let's learn about the legality and safety first.
Legality & Safety Considerations (Read First!)
This section is not legal advice, but it outlines the basic framework you should think about before using any downloader. For further discussions, please check StreamFab's copyright and usage guidelines.
Personal backups for individual viewing are considered fair use, and tools such as StreamFab mentioned below are value-added tools that provide users with a more flexible way to watch offline, based on a valid Peacock subscription plan.
Separate from legal issues, there is a security question: where do you get the software? To reduce the risk of malware, spyware, or unwanted bundled programs, you should download the tools from their official websites or reputable software directories. Do not use any patched, pre-activated, or unidentified-source versions, as these are often breeding grounds for malware. Meanwhile, keep your operating system, browser, and security software up to date, and always perform virus/security scans before and after installation.

The data in the table comes from my own testing. Actual usage may be affected by factors such as device and network, and is for reference only.
- StreamFab Peacock Downloader: 1080p quality, EAC3 5.1 audio, ad-free, solid subtitle support.
- PlayOn: Recording-based, supports live streams, but with a much slower speed and softer quality.
- VidiCable: Similar to StreamFab, though post-update stability can wobble.
1. StreamFab Peacock Downloader
I’m picky about picture quality and speed; blurry frames and snail speed will make me cranky, so I ended up with StreamFab Peacock Downloader. If you’re still torn after all that comparison talk, do a quick trial run: test all three, free if possible, then pick the one that feels right for your setup, your patience, and your budget.

- Save Peacock titles that your account can stream for offline viewing during an active subscription.
- Batch-save episodes and movies for offline viewing up to 1080p resolution & EAC3 5.1 or AAC 2.0 audio track.
- Peacock downloading option with H.264 or H.265 codecs saves your device storage space.
- Save titles you can legally stream during your valid subscription to MP4/MKV for device-compatible offline playback (personal use).
- Get Peacock downloads with your best-suited subtitles & metadata.
- Scheduled newly released videos on Peacock will be automatically downloaded.
StreamFab Peacock Downloader offers a more generous free trial for all users. It will not limit content type, video length, or output quality. And, from the core working method view, compared with generic screen recording, this approach is designed to work with the underlying stream. By converting shows on Peacock to MP4, you will get clean, properly encoded files rather than a recording of everything on your display.
Steps to download shows from Peacock via StreamFab are simple and clear. Just follow the 4 procedures below:
Tap the VIP Services on the left channel to find "Peacock". You can also copy and paste your video URL directly into the address bar on the Homepage.

Search for the video and play it, then a pop-up window will ask for your video options. You can choose the audio and subtitle language, etc.

After customization, you can download it right now or add it to the queue.

2. PlayOn Home
PlayOn Home is a Windows-based streaming DVR that records what your PC can play from services like Peacock. It is better viewed as a general streaming DVR for Peacock than as a dedicated high-efficiency Peacock downloader.

- Queue recordings (e.g., a whole season) and let them run overnight
- Outputs standard video files, so recordings do not expire like in-app downloads
- Good if you already keep a Windows PC running as a media or recording box
- Recording is real-time: a 60-minute episode takes 60 minutes to capture
- DVR-style capture can noticeably degrade picture quality compared to direct downloading
- Adds a disclaimer segment at the beginning of recordings, which is distracting for playback
That said, its interface is pretty friendly to new users. You can take the example steps below as a reference.
First, install and launch PlayOn Home on your PC. You find Peacock right on its homescreen. Click on it.

Now you need to log in to Peacock within this standalone setting panel. After you finish logging in, PlayOn Home will automatically jump back to the main page.

Now enter Peacock and move on the path to the episodes you want for offline viewing. You can also directly search for the title via the search bar. Click on the record button to start.

I know I'm using a quality-limited free version, but still, I want to show you what I finally got from PlayOn. As you can see here, the record is only 360p. Am I overgreedy for expecting 720p quality?

- I can't accept that resolution and thought maybe my settings are not proper, so I changed the maximum video quality to "Medium", the best quality PlayOn Home free version can reach, and tried to record again. The fact is, you can only get 360p from its free version. No dice. But the bitrate is barely acceptable.
3. VidiCable Peacock Downloader
Vidicable Peacock Downloader is another tool for downloading and recording Peacock videos, but its features are pretty bare-bones; it plods along at a snail’s pace, and sometimes the video quality doesn’t exactly wow me.

- Simple, straightforward workflow for basic downloading/recording tasks
- Saves videos as common formats like MP4/MKV, which are easy to play on most devices
- Download speed and stability can be inconsistent, especially for heavier use
- Provides a lower screen quality due to the codec profile
- A very stingy trial experience (possibly to cover up the flaws of the Re-encode download mode)
Its usage is not too difficult; it's similar to the general type of downloaders. However, there are some points you might need to pay attention to. Please refer to the steps to rip from Peacock (by the "rip", I mean, to legally back up Peacock content you have access to) below for details:
Get VidiCable Peacock Downloader from its official site. Install and launch it. You can find Peacock right below.

Click on the Peacock icon and then log in to your account within its built-in browser.

Find the Peacock shows you want to download for offline viewing and play it. Please note that you can adjust video/audio/subtitle options in the panel after you click on "Advanced Download".

Now, click on Download after you're sure that everything meets your expectations. You can check the ongoing and finished tasks in the Library section.

As I mentioned above regarding the quality issue, VidiCable Peacock Downloader’s encoder configuration is Main@L4.2, which maintains compatibility but results in a much lower bitrate, making it far less impressive compared to StreamFab’s 7820 kbps with High@L4. At least to my eyes, the programs downloaded by StreamFab Peacock Downloader retain better picture detail, show fewer compression artifacts, and have a particularly clear advantage with dynamic images.

- Out of curiosity, I tested its recording function using the same episode of The Office. Surprisingly, the bitrate was quite high, reaching up to 25Mbps, but the resolution depends on the size of the VidiCable interface on your screen, so you might end up with an irregular resolution like 1146*644.
Frequently Asked Questions
If there’s no Download icon, the title is not available for offline viewing due to licensing or regional restrictions.
In general, they cannot. Legitimate tools still rely on what your account can actually stream. If a title is not licensed in your region or requires a subscription tier you do not have, then you should not expect a downloader to legally or reliably provide it.
Officially, no. Peacock’s downloads are app-locked and tied down to your account, active subscription, and the actual device/app. You won’t see any handy MP4 or MKV files to move. Basically, can’t drag them onto a USB or play them in some random player, even if you try.
Conclusion
Everyone’s got their favorite or suitable tools, each with its own quirks. The official app is dependable and simple, but it feels a bit too rigid if you want freedom or extra features (which bugs me sometimes). StreamFab Peacock Downloader performs fast, easily, and with nice customization. If you’re someone who loves tweaking things, this one’s basically made for you. PlayOn Home sort of aims for that “old school DVR” feeling, but it’s kind of pokey, and the video quality doesn’t always impress. Vidicable Peacock Downloader is fine, nothing fancy, so for basic downloading it works, but don’t expect too much.
If you’re asking for my verdict, I will say StreamFab Peacock Downloader is where it’s at. It blends solid performance and tons of options, so for most folks, that’s probably the best bet for downloading your Peacock favorites.
